Organizations & Communities

Welcome to campus! ¡Estás en tu casa! In addition to the Department of Chicano & Latino Studies, the following offices, organizations, and student groups support the educational experience and academic success of Raza students on campus:

  • CASA SOL Living Learning Community
    CASA SOL is a community where Chicano and Latino first-year students, both freshman and transfer, work with Chicano and Latino faculty and staff towards a great first year. CASA SOL encourages students to connect with the Chicano and Latino community on campus, find academic support, explore leadership opportunities, and have fun!
  • Mi Gente Student Cultural Center
    Mi Gente Student Cultural Center is a student group that provides programming, events, and learning opportunities to campus in order to achieve a greater historical, political, and cultural awareness concerning Chicano, Xicano, and Latino communities.
  • Multicultural Center for Academic Excellence
    The Multicultural Center for Academic Excellence (MCAE) is a campus-wide resource that promotes an inclusive atmosphere to foster and enrich multicultural understanding among all members of the University of Minnesota community.
  • The Graduate School Diversity Office (GSDO)
    The Graduate School Diversity Office (GSDO) leads and coordinates the University’s initiatives in the recruitment, funding, retention, and graduation of a diverse graduate student body.
